January 2018 Favorites + Playlist

In this post, I’m introducing a new series that I’ll be sharing with you every month. My monthly favorites will feature my favorite products, books, movies, songs, etc. from the previous month. If you’re anything like me, you get excited to see what things other people are loving at the moment. Here are a few of the things I was obsessed with in January:

Who doesn’t love food? This month, I have not one, but THREE favorite new foods to share with you. The first is this thing called a Stroopwafel. I was given one as a snack on my flight to D.C., and it was AMAZING. The packaging describes it as a “soft, toasted waffle filled with caramel, cinnamon, and real bourbon vanilla.” If you want to try one, you can order them online from Target or Amazon. Next on my list is none other than Taco Bell’s new Nacho Fries. As soon as these things were announced, I knew had to try them. I’ve actually tried them twice since they were released, and I highly recommend sticking with the regular ones instead of trying the Nacho Fries Supreme or BellGrande, unless you’re a fan of soggy fries. Lastly, my boyfriend’s dad recently introduced me to “Tachos.” Unfortunately, I don’t have an exact recipe, but they consist of tater tots covered in nacho cheese, pulled pork and barbecue sauce poured on top, and they are SO GOOD. I ordered some similar loaded tater tots in D.C., and they didn’t compare to the homemade ones at all.

I’m currently reading All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. It’s about two teenagers who meet on the top of their high school’s bell tower. I won’t give too much away, but it talks about their adventures and struggles as high school students. I haven’t quite finished it yet, but I’m about two-thirds through it and I really like it so far. I definitely recommend it for fans of John Green or Rainbow Rowell.

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Riverdale. It came back on last month after taking a couple weeks off from the second season, and I’m so glad it’s back on already! It stars one of my favorite actors, Cole Sprouse, who I’ve watched on tv growing up. The retro vibes make me want a Pop’s Diner of my own. I definitely recommend it for those who also watch Stranger Things.

This past month, in terms of movies, I watched It, Poltergeist and Jumanji. Out of the three, Jumanji was definitely my favorite. When it comes to comedies, I think the lineup of main actors was perfect. It was also a nice surprise to see that Nick Jonas had a significant role in it. I seriously gasped in the movie theater and looked at my boyfriend and said, “IT’S NICK JONAS.” I’m sure everyone around me was thinking, “what’s wrong with this girl?” Oh well.

Rather than picking a single artist or song that stuck out to me, I decided to make a playlist of a lot of the songs I jammed out to in January. My music taste was a little all over the place this month. Follow me on my Spotify for more playlists in the future. ENJOY.

If you end up checking out my playlist or any of the things I mentioned, be sure to let me know in the comments what you think!
