101 Things in 1001 Days Update #3

101 Things in 1001 Days

If you’ve read my blog before, I’m sure you’ve heard about the 101 Things in 1001 Days challenge I’m participating in. I created a list of 101 things that I want to accomplish in the 1001 days (just shy of 3 years). I started my list in January 2019, and I’ve been chipping away at it ever since.

As previously mentioned in my June life update, I spent the past month competing with Caitlin from And Possibly Dinosaurs to see who could complete the most things on their 101 Things in 1001 Days list. She reached out to me since she had her own 101 Things list and saw that I wanted to collaborate with another blogger (#94 on my list). We decided to turn it into a friendly competition to see who could check off the most things in a month. Let’s see how it went.

Things I completed on my 101 Things in 1001 Days list in June:

Art & Creativity

Complete my 52 Lists Project book

I had started this book a couple years ago, but I kept forgetting about it and putting it off. I would pick it up and fill out a few lists at a time. I finally sat down and finished what was left of it.

Completely fill at least one of my empty journals/notebooks

I love stationary, so I have a problem of buying way too many notebooks and journals but hardly putting them to use. I was finally able to fill up one of my notebooks this month. I’ve also started finding creative ways to use up some of the others, so it feels good to get more use out of them.

Buy film to test out my old polaroid cameras

I have two older Polaroid cameras, one my grandma gave to me (SX-70 model) and the other I bought on eBay a couple years ago (600 model). I bought some of the Impossible film online back when I got them, but I was having issues with the film printing. One was printing with white lines on the edges, and the other was printing the film with brown splotches. I wasn’t sure if the film had expired before I used it, so I bought new packs of film to test them. Turns out, one of the cameras had white paint or something on the inside so that explained the white lines. I cleaned it off and now it is printing better than ever!! I tested out the other Polaroid camera and it worked just as good! I’m so glad that I re-tested them and got them to work. 😊

Blog & Social Media

Collaborate with another blogger

Between this post and the last post, I can officially cross this off my list - Thanks Caitlin! 🤗

Update my LinkedIn profile

My profile was a little out of date as I hadn’t updated it about a year. It was also missing many things, such as my senior projects and portfolios from college. I also updated my bio and some of the other sections. I don’t use LinkedIn often since I’m no longer job hunting, but it’s good to keep your profile up-to-date so I’m glad I checked it off the list.

That brings my total to 5 for the month of June. I checked in with Caitlin and she had completed 3 things on her list this month. You know what that means… I WON! I honestly wasn’t sure who I was expecting to win, but it feels good to have crossed that many things off my list. My strategy was to narrow down the easiest tasks and try to do those first. There were plenty of things I attempted to do but just didn’t finish them in time.

Now, let’s get an update on my overall progress:

Total Complete: 45

End Date: October 10, 2021

Days Left: 466 Days
