Valentine's Day Roundup: Gift Ideas, Date Ideas, Food and More

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I know a lot of people wait until the last minute to plan anything, so they’re stuck buying all the leftover nearly dead roses at the store. When I worked at a jewelry counter inside Walmart, Valentine’s Day was one of the absolute worst for last-minute shoppers. I’m here to help those last-minute shoppers and anyone else who wants to plan something special this Valentine’s Day.

Food

Who doesn’t love food?! I scoured Pinterest for some different foods that would be delicious for anyone to make this Valentine’s Day.

I even made my own Valentine’s Day treats a few years back and wrote a blog post out of it. Check it out here:

Gift Ideas

I’ve come up with some gift ideas that could either be bought (with quick shipping) or things that you could DIY at home.

Adventure Book Journal

This is something that I asked my boyfriend for, because I love journaling and I want to start doing a combination of scrapbooking and journaling to document all of our adventures. This one can easily be made with a blank journal and some letter stickers on the front. This exact journal can be found on Etsy.

Keepsake Box

I actually made my boyfriend a keepsake box last year to put photos, ticket stubs and handwritten letters in. You can find wooden boxes at Walmart or any craft store. If you aren’t the crafty type, I found these cute customizable keepsake boxes on Etsy.

Date Passport

I first discovered these Letterfolk passports on Instagram, and saw they had a passport for just about everything you can think of. My favorite is the Concert Passport. The Date Passport would make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift, or you could even pick out a different one based on your significant other’s interests. Obsessed with coffee? They’ve got a passport for that too! Check out all the different passports they have to offer here.

Date Ideas

Breakfast in Bed

For those who want to plan a date, but want to stay home or are on a budget: breakfast in bed. You can go all out and make a waffle bar, and even some Valentine’s Day Mimosas. The Funfetti Pancakes are even festive.

Wine & Canvas Couples Night

I’ve done a few Wine & Canvas classes with friends and they are so fun! I’ve seen certain places that do couples classes and I think it would be a fun Valentine’s Date night idea.

Axe Throwing

I’ve never done axe throwing, but I’ve heard a lot of people recommend it. This could be fun to do with your significant other, or a group of friends on Galentine’s Day.

Galentine’s Day

Ax throwing could be very therapeutic for those newly single, but if that isn’t your thing, then I have a couple other ideas you can try this Galentine’s Day:

Dessert Charcuterie Board

Get the girls together and have everyone pitch in a dessert and put it all together on a charcuterie board. The one I found on Pinterest looks amazing!

Girl’s Photoshoot

Found on Pinterest

If there’s one thing girls love to do that the guys usually want nothing to do with, it’s a photoshoot. Go out and buy some balloons or a cool backdrop (or DIY one) and put together your own photo booth.

Or you can go buy a bouquet of roses and then destroy it like my friend Nicole and I did for this photoshoot:
