Monthly Favorites: January 2020
Is it just me, or does anyone else think January both flew by and lasted forever at the same time? It’s hard to believe we’re already one month into the new year. I decided to bring back my Monthly Favorites series because I love sharing things I’ve been obsessing over, hoping that I can either inspire someone to try something new, or strike up a conversation with someone who loves the same things I do. I hope you love discovering new things as much as I do! I’ll be sharing my favorites in food, jewelry and entertainment with you.

Food
Bru Burger’s BBQ Chicken Nachos
I wish I took a photo of these delicious nachos before devouring them so I could show you guys. For all my fellow nacho fans out there, be sure to try the BBQ nachos at Bru Burger and get them with chicken. You can thank me later!
Taco Stuffed Sweet Potatoes
Since moving into my apartment, I’ve been looking for a lot of new recipes to try for dinner. I decided to try out this recipe I found on Pinterest. If you like sweet potatoes, you’ll HAVE to try this recipe. It is one of the easiest things I’ve made, yet they were SO good!! Here’s a photo of my version of the taco loaded sweet potatoes:

RockLove Mew Necklace
I recently discovered the brand RockLove Jewelry when they released their Pokémon collection a few months ago. I wanted something from the collection, but they sold out within an hour or so of me discovering them after the Official Pokémon Twitter account shared the collection. If you know me, I’m obsessed with anything Pokémon related (if you couldn’t tell from my trip to Pokémon Go Fest). So I’ve basically been watching all of RockLove’s social media accounts waiting for them to restock. As soon as they restocked, my boyfriend snagged me a beautiful Mew necklace as an early birthday gift. I’m honestly obsessed with everything in the collection, and I can’t wait for more new releases. I highly recommend you check out RockLove Jewelry, because they also have a lot of different collections from Disney, Star Wars, Star Trek and more!
Entertainment
The Circle
I had seen a few people recommend The Circle on Netflix. I love competitive reality shows, so I decided to give it a try. I liked the concept that the contestants all live in the same apartment building, but can’t see each other face-to-face. They can only communicate through The Circle’s voice-activated online platform. The twist is that the players can play as themselves or they can decide to be a “catfish.” Each player rates the other players and the most popular player by the end is the winner. I honestly thought the show was cheesy, but after watching the first episode I was hooked wanted to know who was going to win and who was going to play as a catfish. I binged the show in a week, and by the end of it, I got attached to all of the players. If you like reality game shows, I definitely recommend you give The Circle a try.
Music
I can’t believe how many good music releases there have already been in 2020. I’ve had Halsey’s new album “Manic” on repeat since it was released. A few of my favorites from the album are 3 am and You should be sad. My favorite band, All Time Low released a new song called Some Kind of Disaster that I’m obsessed with. I’m very excited for their new era of music and for them to announce a new tour this year. Now if only they could officially release Getaway Green. 😉
I’ve started a 2020 favorites Spotify playlist if you want to check out some of my favorite songs at the moment.
